Halloween 2010

I was...a hippie?...or Miley Cyrus...depending on who you asked!

I just fell in love w the sequin shorts and HAD to have them.  very clearly a sequin addict at the moment.

THE GAP; Holiday Love

Although I am not a huge fan of The Gap as a whole,  they never fail to have a few key pieces that I CANNOT live with out.  For their winter collection it is this Sequin Zip Jacket & Sequin Purse.

One word: AMAZING!

blah blah blah;

sooo, i hadn't updated this thing in months.  not because i didn't want to, just because i haven't really had a chance.

so i sort of redid/renamed it.  and I'm not sure if I'll keep it but i wanted to start something new.

hopefully i will find some more time to work on this.  STILL have not gotten a laptop (ridiculous, i know).  but i wont settle for anything less than a mac book & i am working very hard on getting one.  so as i repeatedly say: SOON! :)

thanks for looking.

months of silence.

Wow, I have not blogged since before I moved! Well that makes sense because I don't have a lap top (stilll unfortunately...saving up for a Mac Book) but it is a real bummer. I have had a lot of artistic thoughts and things to blog about but no way to do so. So I am at least going to do a written one w an update on my life so that it is not mistaken that this blog has been simply abandoned! Because I would never do that!

What is new; well what isn't new really. Everything is new & exciting for me right now. I am managing a coffee stand & working part time at a tanning salon, & hopefully starting at another coffee stand next week. I have become a total workaholic and I love it.

It feels really good to be totally supporting MYSELF for the first time in my life & I never want to go back to having it any other way. I just moved into a brand new apartment that I love, all by myself, no roommates! But the awesome thing is two of the friends I have made since I have been here live right upstairs!

Yes, my apartment is very empty since I have never lived on my own before. But I am slowly working on that. I should have a bed by later today and then I'm aiming for a microwave & toaster, & eventually a couch. I have NEVER in my life wanted to have any of these things because I move around so much I have thought of them as a hassle. But I realize now that its time to grow up, & grown ups need toasters and couches! :)

Another thing I am really working towards is a new car. As soon as I feel stable (which getting an apartment was the first step) I plan on getting on. It just feels really good to be working so hard and not having to rely on anyone but myself. Although my mom did help me a little w my apartment (I will not leave out credit where credit is due). And I most certainly could not have done this w out jolene renting me a room in her house & loading me up w towels, toilet paper, and noodles.

Of course there is Mr. R who has been the most help in my recent life. It would be unfair not to mention him. However that is a whole nother story & my blog is not about my "love" life, its about life in general on the rare occasion that I actually blog about me & not amazing clothes & music.

Let's get one thing straight though...getting where I am now was no walk in the park. Not only did it take years of struggles & growing up, & giving up to finally realize what I know now. But it also took A LOT of risk and hard work over the last few months. One thing I have learned is ALWAYS go w your gut feeling because there is always a reason it is trying to tell you something. & if you aren't willing to take risks than you will miss out on so much that life has to offer. Everything falls together exactly as it should to either help you or teach you a lesson that you cannot go on w out learning.

Its crazy to look back and think of how much I have stressed in the last few months let alone my entire life, only to realize that everything worked out, & the things that didn't taught me more than I could imagine. To me there is no meaning to live except just to live it, to be scared, to be nervous, but to take risks. To be yourself, what comes naturally, and to grow & learn.

Blah I always feel so scattered when I write these damn things. Well I don't know where I'll be or what I'll be doing a year from now, or even 6 months from now...but I have faith in myself. Anything is possible, never stop believing that!

something i havent done in a while;

So, I have come to the conclusion that I am a terrible blogger. Not because I don't have ideas, things to blog about, or words to say, but because 1. it takes a lot of effort, and I'm pretty much just lazy. And 2. I can’t seem to write anything personal about myself without cringing and deleting it all to right an incredibly boring and dulled down version.

So clearly I've recently been blogging more about fashion and such. Because I love it, but I guess also because I am too afraid to tell about the real me. I am starting to wonder when this happened. I have blogged about the real me since I was fourteen, and now suddenly...I have nothing to say.

So (because clearly every paragraph in this post has to start with so) I really want to make a mid-new years ish resolution. To 1. put effort into this, expressing the things I love (like fashion) and 2. to talk about myself (and my life) with no fear of sounding whiney, cheesy, bitchy, or dumb.

We will see how this goes.

I have a feeling my life is about to get a little bit crazy. But they say you will never know if you can fly if you don't jump! That would be just one of the "cheesy" things I say to get myself through every day as calmly as possible, in a world where I have NO idea where I fit in or what my purpose is. Along with "Every day is a good day, some are just better than others." , "Life is like driving through a snow storm. Even though you can only see a few feet ahead of you, you just have to believe and trust that the road will continue to appear." and "Everything happens for a reason.". Although some might call these quotes lame or cliché, they really are what get me from one day to the next without a complete and total anxiety attack break down.

So WHOA, reading over all of that I think I possibly accomplished half of my goal. Now for the other half. Who's ready for a seriously long synopsis of what I think is in this summer? Maybe tomorrow... ;

LOVE;

dissapointment on a tuesday;

So I got up this morning, planning to put some great new music on my iPod to motivate me to go to the gym.  Well I am usually really great at finding good new music, but I have to say either I have lost my touch, or music SUCKS right now.  I have found about 4 songs that I would actually like to listen to right now out of the 30 I have downloaded.  Very dissapointing since it has been weeks since I have looked for new music at all.  Well I might as well share w/ you the songs I do like!

1. Victory - DJ Kahled ft. Nas & John Legend
HONESTLY-- How can DJ K's shitty ass even be associated w/ this song.  I am SO not a fan of his but I LOVE LOVE LOVE John Legend.

2. Bulletproof - La Roux
I am pretty sure this isn't all that new.  But I am not really sure where I have heard it before, these days- probably on a commertial.

3.  Women Lie, Men Lie - Yo Gotti ft. Lil Wayne
I have also heard this before, again not sure where.  I feel like this blog is a joke right now because none if this is actually new.

4. KnockOut - Lil Wayne ft. Nicki Minaj
Obviously Rebirth came out in February, but I was majorly slacking and never really checked it out.  Honestly at first listen I'm not that interested.

Okay, honestly all those songs but 1 are not even that great.  I am really bummed.  SOMEONE please tell me what they are listening to right now.

wine for a cause;

Well I certainly love wine.  Why not drink wine for a cause?  Fledging Wine sells wine to benefit Room to Read, a non-profit organization created to extend literacy and educational opportunities to children world wide.  To get more information go to (FLEDGLING WINE)'s site.  There you can also purchase a bottle of wine or a case.

"The Fledgling Initiative is bringing together three inovative organizations to support global education.  Our success means children's lives will be changed across Asia and Africa through experiencing their first library and books in their own language." -John Wood, founder of Room to Read

Rabbit Rabbit!

Happy March 1st everyone.  I have been terrible at blogging.  I'm sounding like a broken record repeating the obvious in every post.  Well I cant continue to promise that I'll write, but lets hope it just happens.

So does anyone else say "Rabbit Rabbit" on the first of the month before they say anything else believing that it will bring them good luck for the rest of the month, but not knowing why.  Because I do.  And I have for like 8 years now (at least tried) and today, my oatmeal and starbucks via breakfast is making me curious.

So I suppose I should start w/ why I say it.  I actually learned of it when I was a freshman and went out for new years w a group of friends.  After the new years party we all stayed at one friends house and in the morning all the girls woke up and yelled "Rabbit Rabbit".  I had never heard of that before and so I asked why, and they told me because if you say it first thing in the morning, before you say anything else, it will bring you good luck for the rest of the month.  Ever since then I have just kind of believed it.

Mmm, I tried to do some research on it, and there are a million and one different variations of it.  Some say "rabbit rabbit rabbit" some say "rabbit rabbit white rabbit".  Some say that all the people that hear you say it are who you will have good luck w/.  And some say that you must say "Rabbit Rabbit" and then greet everyone else w/ "peanuts" instead of "goodmorning" to give others good luck.

It is thought that is came from the fact that rabbits are thought to be lucky, just like a "lucky rabbits foot".  But it seems to be very unclear.  It's always fun to have something to believe in though.  So those of you who didn't know about this...don't forget to say "Rabbit Rabbit" first thing on the first of every month :)

Valentines Day;

Oh Valentines Day, I am not exactly sure why I feel so negative about this holiday this year.  I usually take it as a day to do something incredibly fun w my friends.  Two years ago I flew to LA and had a fantastic time, and last year I flew back to Oly and also had a great time.  This year, I plan to do the same only I'll be staying in town.  DWOWW and a bottle of Little Black Dress is my "Valentine".  Since I take any holiday as a chance to dress up I even bought this shirt from Urban.  But I have just been in a negative mood.  Honestly for reasons I don't care to share w/ everyone in the world.  But if you know me, you definitely know why!

Anyway, after being completely unexcited and sad about this day rolling around, I finally woke up this morning and realized that I should take it as a reminder to love ME, love my FRIENDS, and love my FAMILY.  I have NEVER been a serial dater anyway, and am usually happier single than in a relationship.  So, I am writing this blog because my sister said it would make me feel better, and she is right.  Guys play way too much of a role in our lifes.  We should be living for ourself, not living to find the ONE.

Well I am very excited to go see Valentines Day.  I seriously promise to start posting alot more.  Everyone enjoy Valentines Day and most important, dont forget to love yourself today!  Okay I am done being cheesy now :)

Monday, February 8, 2010

I promise to blog soon.  I have lots of good idea's but no time.  For now, continue to read my sisters blog and keep up with me on Twitter.  Don't leave me readers! :)

better to feel something, than nothing at all;

So right now while I am in a funk and am incredibly UNcreative, I would like to bring you some creativity still.  So I highly encourage you to check out my amazing sisters blog about her "BOYcott".  It is incredibly honest and well written and I am proud to call her my sister.  (For many other reasons as well.)  So please follow along her journey w/ out boys while I try to find my creativity again, maybe after the weekend so I am not so exhasted!  And anyway, I LOVE my sister and she deserves the recognition.

On a note about my life (a quick note) I am slightly worried I have become a shopaholic...I used to have a hard time spending money on clothes...now I can't think about anything else.  I spend pretty much all my time thinking about clothes I want, looking online for clothes I am going to buy, and going out and buying clothes.  Today after work I went to Wal-Mart (BARF) just to buy a plain white (boys undershirt) shirt to write Saints on for the Superbowl.  Not only did I buy that I got a pair of jeans for 3 dollars.  I don't even think its shopping I am addicted to...its SAVING...like finding the best sale and then I just HAVE to have it because its on sale and it's a great deal.  Well that shit adds up :)  Anyway I am so tired I just want to go lay in bed.  READ MY SISTERS BLOG!!

whores get herpes;

I am so bottled up it's rediculous.  Funny how it only takes a single sentance to get under my skin.  Now I just keep playing Kiss n' Tell and Backstabber by Ke$ha on repeat!  And after much bloggers block have decided the most interesting thing to me right now is wine.  My absolute favorite, Little Black Dress.  Right now I REALLY want to be eating Bangkok, drinking chardonay and hanging out with my sister.  I need to go visit her in Boston very badly.

Uhhg, I have written this blog like 3 times and I just keep deleting it.  I am not feeling it right now.  Havent been creative the last few days. Booo.  Hopefully I'll be back to my regular self soon.

comin out your mouth with your blah blah blah, zip your lip like a pad lock;

This Urban Outfitters shirt made me laugh.  And since I am incredibly lazy and tired after a very long seven days, this is as good of a post as you are going to get right now. :)

I start another 40 hour week tomorrow but I am very excited for the weekend ahead.  I am just going to use this blog as a little update on my life since I havent talked about me in a while.

Tomorrow I am going to do some blogging about what I thought about the grammys.  But right now I am DVRing it so I can watch it commercial free tomorrow after work.

So I have a question...didn't this used to have spell check...and why doesssn't it?!  I seriously need it!!

I've decided I actually kinda like Ke$ha's album.  Especially Blah Blah Blah, Stephen, and Backstaber!

So things to do this week: 1. Clean my room because I was going to do it today but I got sucked into online shopping and blogging.

2. Go to good will to get something "country" for Kia's going away party.

3. Get white shirts and make a super bowl shirt.  GO SAINTS!

4. WATCH THE GRAMMYS (TOMORROW) Already excited based on Yahoo! coverage!

Ehhh, I am over this.  Sorry it's been lame the last few days.  More exciting this week. BYE BYE.

Fashion For A Cause;

So, I am really dissapointed that I am having such a hard time finding awesome items that donate proceeds to charity.  If anyone knows a good place to find this, please let me know.  But I was able to find a few things that I thought were blog worthy.  Enjoy :)

This Everlon Bracelet designed by Rachel Bilson, costs $100 and donates $20 to the Diamond Empowerment Fund (DEF), a non profit international organization that supports education in Africa.  Learn more and purchase at Macys.

Okay, so this is one of my favorite things I have found.  Give and Take Tees have a bunch of different tees that all donate proceeds to different organizations.  I would 100% suggest at least taking a look at the site and the awesome tee's they have!

Orange is the new black!
Support the "Orange You Happy to Erase MS" foundation by buying orange products like these.
Love this "Orange You Lucky" Love and Peace Bracelet!  Shop now here!

Okay, so I really tried.  And I am really disappointed I couldn't find more.  Maybe I am looking in the wrong places.  Props to Marie Clare online though because almost everything I found was through them.  More to come soon I really hope!

Monday means...;

ONE TREE HILL
obsessed.

So IN LOVE with Everly, Bethany Joy Galeotti's band.  Favorite songs are Flying Machine and Girl In the Moon.

Find them on iTunes or listen to them for free at lala.com

HOPE FOR HAITI;

Text "Haiti" to 90999 to donate $10!  (before March 1st)
Whether you have or haven't done this yet, you should know that it is tax deductable and the only proof you need is the charge on your cell phone bill.  So dont forget to help the people of Haiti, and when filing your taxes don't forget your cell phone bill.
I know I'm a little late on this one.  Already $275 million and counting has been donated.  But while complaining about how bad our economy is and how little you have you should remember the people of Haiti that no longer have anywhere to live at all.  Ten dollars to most American's is a lunch, maybe two days worth of starbucks, a week of bottled water over tap.  I'm sure if you really think about it, you will see they could use it alot more than us.  Not that I think I have to convince anyone.  I just today found out the tax deductible bill was passed.  Wanted to share that with everyone.

rock n' roll addiction;

bright;

Deux Lux

Love love love.  Almost all of my clothes are black, or some other nuetral color.  I usually don't like clothing in super bright colors.  But I love these bright colored bags to brighten up my look.  And I am so addicted to huge purses.

I used to have these in pink and white.  My sunglasses have a very short life span though, before they are lost or broken.  I think these turquoise ones alot better than the pink ones I had.

my absolute favorite jeans;

BDG Overdyed Cigarette Jean

Things I've learned from songs by Taylor Swift;

1. It's better to feel something, rather than nothing at all.

2. You can only say sorry so many times before it stops meaning anything.

3. You truly cannot help who you fall madly in love with.

4. Love is difficult.

5. Breaking up with someone is never simple, or easy.  There are no clean breaks.

6. Right in this moment you might think that it is the end of the world.  But it isn't.  Life moves on.

7. Learn to laugh at those who think they are better than you.

8. Forever and always can end at any moment, for any reason.

9. Although life is not a fairytale, I will eventually find someone who will treat me like a princess.

10. Life always goes on.

11. It takes time to find yourself, but keep trying and take it day by day.

12. You're never alone when you feel like you aren't good enough.

13. Boys cheat on even the most beautiful girls.

14. Never forgive a cheater.

15. Too much time is wasted hoping for someone to love you the way you want them too.  If it is meant to be it will be.  You can't force love.

So there are the things I have learned from songs by Taylor.  I decided to write this blog because my sister got addicted to her and told me to download all the music I didnt have of hers.  So I did, and started to listening to it all.  This blog probably comes off far too cheesy for my own taste.  But they are all good points about life.  It always goes on, and when you least expect it you will find your prince.  And then it may or may not work out, but that is no reason to give up.  Life is a rollercoaster but if we didnt have hard times we would never appreciate the great ones.  Maybe life really can be a fairy tale where everyone gets their happy ending, if you just believe.

*check out Kirsten Kuehn Designs (headband shown above on Taylor) here.

favorite pictures of oh nine.

In no order what so ever.  Just a reminder that although things change, feelings change, people change, everything changes...that at one point I was enjoying myself w the people I chose to surround myself w.  Also a reminder that although nothing extrodinary happened, and I didnt make much visable progress, I had a GREAT time and learned ALOT as a person.  I wouldnt change anything that happened.
